Search Twiddlers Work Through the Holiday

From my POV it seems unlikely Google employees want to start an update over the holiday and risk needing to return to the office if something goes wrong.

Yet a pattern of weekend and holiday search volatility has emerged. If it is not the employees twiddling with the SERPs then it is one of the algorithm systems. The activity shows up as search volatility.

July 4th Weekend Google Search Ranking Update & Volatility

Surprise, surprise, it was another weekend and we again see some more than usual Google search ranking volatility/updates. Again, this reminds me of the weekend ranking bug Google had late last year into early this year. But who knows, maybe it is just a ranking system that shuffles things up for weekend searchers?

The pages that suffered during a holiday update may have had only a marginal approval of the twiddler system. The loss of traffic over the holiday pushed them over the edge.

These pages that suffered need a close evaluation which may lead to insights into the twiddler system.
